By Prince J.C. Morris ( pmorris@selnanews.com )

Fish Town, River Gee County - Solar Community Volunteers (SCV) have embarked on a 21-days road rehabilitation project in River Gee County. According to the Officer-In-Charge of SCV Mr. Jerry Hinneh, the road project is part of the organization's regular community services which are implemented based on the prevailing needs of the communities in River Gee.

The 1.5 miles road rehabilitation project is intended to connect River Gee's commercial capital city with other parts of the county. "We are focusing the road connecting Kanweaken and Fish Town cities which has been cut off following the heavy down pull of rain in February 2017". Remarked Mr. Jerry Hinneh.

Solar Community Volunteers (SCV) is a non-profit community based organization which has implemented many projects in communities in River Gee including health, education, infrastructure among others.

Currently, SCV is partnering with the local government in River Gee County, including the office of the county's Superintendent, city mayors, and local NGOs. River Gee is one of the fastest growing county in the Southeastern region of Liberia. However, the lack of  good road network in the county has threatened its potential  for decades.
